There lives a world in all of us, set in one place, where we are built. Where we grow. Where we learn trust in ourselves through battles with the world out there. This place to me is the state I’ve lived in for most of my life. CT. Connecticut. The word itself contains connect. Connect past to present. Connect youth to maturity, restless to still, tragic to triumphant. Perhaps that’s extreme, but that is my truth. I’ve grown up here, in most ways since 2020, when the world erupted and all was new.
My world erupted with the loss of my father, along with my solid ground of alcohol as my peace.
